Friday Night Lights (in Cullman, Alabama)
Nothing…not death or life, angels or demons, the present or the future, nor anything else in all creation…can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. 1
Sometimes…I think God shows off, at least for me. Maybe, it’s because He knows I’m struggling, frustrated or just plain tired, and need special moments from time to time.
That sounds like it literally goes against everything we are taught…that God would actually “show off”. So maybe, “shows up” is more appropriate, and it just looks like “showing off”.
The sky proclaims the work of God’s hands. 2
One Friday night I arrived in the town of Cullman, Alabama. I pulled into a parking lot and got a snack out of my cooler, paying no attention to the sun setting behind me.
Then after a long while, I turned around and wow! Just…WOW! (see the very top picture)
I mean…what are the odds? The timing to bring me right there, right then, in that parking lot, with those clouds, at that angle. I mean seriously, can you calculate that?!
I will not abandon you; I will come to you. 3
But you know what? Trying to figure out all the how and why…even considering “what are the odds”…it’s all totally irrelevant. My God just shows up, and says…
Hey Shane…I love you, I got you, and I got this…all of it…yesterday, today, tomorrow, and all the days after that. And I’m always with you. Always!
I can’t help but feel that sometimes before He paints across the sky, He might just whisper, Just y’all watch this! And I’m down here, looking up with a smile on my face, thinking, “I see you workin’!”
Get In The Boat. Do Your Part.
From Nose to Toes!
